Early August 2010

Wow! Now things are growing well.We did a new count on the fish and looks like we have new members to the pond,Black and yellow striped,black and goldish with some yellow spots looks like were going to have some pretty fish.Now if we can control the algae will be in good shape. The summer heat really explodes the algae growth, Will post as the fish grow bigger looks like we got 30 or so fish and frogs too.

May 1st 2010 spring is here!

Mr.Winter Has Arrived

First of December 2009 The weather man always says, it's either going to rain or not.Seems like they really don't know.It's a hit or miss with them. never realized that it would snow. they said it might,hell we never believe them half the time anyway, but they got it right this time...lol

SO HERE WE HAVE THE POND,NOW WE CAN JUST WATCH IT GROW.. LOTS OF WORK BUT WELL WORTH THE WAIT.
NEXT WILL BE THE DECK AND SET THE POOL AND WE HAVE US SOME FUN IN THE SUN CHEERS TO ALL!

A LITTLE MORE.!

WOW! we have come to the end of our pond on the out side.. we have 15 fish and some water plants that make a cool looking and nice sound at the night.. next will be some pictures of the inside and the falls you don"t see from above..

INTO THE DAWN!

Looking out the window,It's 5:30am and the sun will be up soon.Coffee is brewed and the rolls are in the oven.You can here the water running and the sound of the wind sweeping by,the frogs are talking to one another and the dogs are floundering about.I have just over the weekend treated the water and the bio goods are working to prepare for the fish.So I have built my wife a mini tiki bar as we shall call it, with some amenities of course. A little fridge and some power for the blender.So I got all my bamboo from the nieghbor up the street and have plenty of that for the next project if need be.This project sure is looking good.

THE POND 98% Complete

WHAT A NICE TOUCH LOOKING AT MY POND THROUGH THE TIKI ROOM WINDOWS AND LISTENING TO THE FROGS AT NIGHT. THE LIGHTS REALLY BRING THIS POND TO LIFE DURING THE NIGHT HOURS,WE SURE DO ENJOY THE WATER SPLASHING AROUND..MAKES SUCH A SERENE SETTING.
SO WE HAVE ADDED SOME BAMBOO AROUND TO GIVE IT MORE DETAIL. TOOK OF THE TOP COURSE OF BLOCK AND NEXT IT IS WATER TREATMENT AND THE PARANA'S HIT THE WATER AND THEY WILL REALLY BE COOL TO SEE.. THEY JUST NIBBLE AT YOUR TOES IS ALL.. SNAPPING TURTLE MIGHT BE COOL TOO!

OH YES THEN HERE'S FREDDY HE'S GOT SOME NICE MARKINGS FOR A FROG,YES?HE ALSO HAS TWO BUDDY'S HANGIN WITH HIM,VERY NICE

WOW! WHAT A BIG DIFFERENCE!! A FEW WEEKS AGO.....

OK SO WE DID SOME YARD SALE HUNTING AND GOT SOME GREAT DEALS ON SOME ITEMS,TO SAVE MONEY,WE FOUND A CONCRETE BENCH FOR 30 BUCKS, NORMALLY 60 AT HOME DEPOT.GOT A LOT OF LITTLE GADGETS TO HANG AROUND, SO JUST A SMALL UPDATE TO SHOW THE PROGRESS!! MOVING RIGHT ALONG.. PLANTS ARE GROWING WELL IN THE FILTER TANK TOO!.. NEXT UPDATE COMING SOON

PHASE 13 PLANTING SOME SHRUB AND BUSH!

STARTING TO ADD SOME RUSTIC ITEMS,SUCH AS A BARREL THE OLD RADIO FLYER WAGON AND SOME OTHERS.THIS WILL MAKE FOR A NICE RUSTIC LOOK,AS WE MOVE INTO THE NEXT STAGE.





HERE IS SOME OF THE BUSH AND A FEW OF THE PLANTS WE WILL HAVE AROUND THE POND.THIS IS THE BEGINNING. LOTS LEFT TO DO! To save money we have almost 2 acre of land with a lot of bush and shrub. This will make a great barrier around the pond.So I went on a search and dug up some of what you see.

Well this view is from the Tiki room.
This is another reason I like what I'm doing with this pond.The view is nice when we hang out in here.OK here we have started setting the bush."SHRUB-AGE I CALL IT"...This will make for some nice privacy and then will plant the other stuff.By next spring,summer it should all be sweet!!!

This is just a view of the inside.What we look at when cooling off.Still have some small plants to place.The other is placing the fencing around the filer tank and then we start on the bush outside the pond, so here it is and we will have invested $850 into a nice back yard get away.Will post the rest soon.

Phase 12 Inside The Pond

WELL HELLO AGAIN!! I have made a lot of progress and need some RnR for my back ,Pond is looking pretty keen.Here is a lot of pictures to look at.
As you will see I have taken the falls that we see from the house and built it over again for the third time and this is what I came up with. I must say It looks great. Next will be the out side of the pond. The grass and bushes will be next, after some time off.
